The Children’s Home Society of Missouri hosts an annual fundraising dinner that many past and potential patrons are invited to. This dinner is normally themed, and for this particular year the theme was to be based on Las Vegas. After a few discussions with the client it was clear that a sophisticated approach was desired, and soon the project began to revolve around a group of Rat Pack impersonators.

The designs for the event (including the pieces shown) had a limited color scheme and type treatments, both reminiscent of fifties and sixties layouts. The invite was a throwback to a 45 record sleeve, and the imagery was meant to conjure up the feeling of being in a dark club listening to the swingin’ sounds of Sinatra and the rest of his crooner pals.

Warson Brands Holiday Card

Warson footwear, a manufacturing licensee of several well-known footwear brands, was looking for a nice way to wish its employees and associated vendors happy holidays.

Using quite a bit of photoshop magic, I was able to create a very sure-footed Santa Claus for this slightly vintage feeling card.

TowerHill Wealth Management is a small investment advising firm with big clients. They specialize in custom portfolio building for high wealth investors. The focus at TowerHill is a one-on-one relationship, so this brochure is used as a vehicle for general information about services.

After several conversations with the client, it became apparent that the principal had a love for the history of locomotion. It seemed that history had many parallels with the TowerHill culture, and it made sense to equate the power, stability, and forward motion of trains to the company’s visual identity. The cover has an image of Union Station, and many locomotive images are found throughout the piece.

Ranken Scion xB Wrap

Ranken Technical College was looking for an interesting way to promote its automotive programs and provide general info about Ranken to prospective students. Luckily an opportunity presented itself. The school had a totaled Scion xB donated and the students were tasked with its rebuild. It was decided that it would be wrapped after the rebuild and shown at events that would be a good fit for Ranken recruitment opportunities.

It was important that the wrap did not become overly designed, as is seen with many vehicle wraps. The information on it needed to be clear and concise.The “Skills” (grey) side represents real world experience, and the “Racing Stripe” (white) side is a direct reference to the new performance automotive department.

Niche Systems is an IT infrastructure and networking specialist company. They were looking for a logo that represented their strength while supporting the technical aspects of what they had to offer.

The bold type represents stability and the cool glowing elements allude to the always-on technology.

Holleran Duitsman Logo

Holleran Duitsman is an architectural firm that focuses on larger corporate structures. The partners of the company had relied on a simple text treatment at the top of their stationary for nearly thirty years, and felt it may have been time for a change.

This logo relies heavily on the positive/negative play of shapes. The bold red punctuates the emotion of exciting design choices, yet the column represents a commitment to the classic approach.

Olympic Holiday Party Invite

The management of Gateway EDI (a medical billing clearinghouse) likes to express their appreciation of loyal and hardworking employees. One of the many ways they do this is in the form of a party at the end of the year. In 2010 it was decided to be Olympic themed in order to coincide with the games.

The performance of the employees was equal to winning gold, and the design reflects that idea.
